Angling University

The Flyfisher's Angling University is Denver's only professional fly fishing school. We offer fly fshing classes and lessons in all aspects of angling both in person and through online course packages. The school is directed by Ethan Emery and is partnered with Trout's Fly Fishing. We offer a curriculum for anglers of all ages and experience levels. We tailor instruction and training to fit all your needs. A 'build-your-own' format allows for total customization of any fly fishing topic. Whether it's teaching children to fish, learning to dry fly fish, mastering the art of casting in saltwater, learning to tie your own flies or building or repairing rods we have the instructors and classes for you. Q.  When did you found Angling University?

2005.

Q. What made you decide to begin to offer courses and workshops in fly fishing?

A.  The fly fishing industry is dependent on the introduction of new anglers. Many fly shops make fly fishing out to be more complicated than it really is. We wanted to create a program that would arm anyone with the information necessary to feel at home in a fly shop and be successful on the water.

Q.  What services does Angling University provide?

A.  All things learning related with regard to fishing, including online courses, classroom courses, classroom & water courses and water courses. We teach everything from casting to fly tying, entomology, knots and fishing.

Q.  What sorts of online classes does Angling University provide?

 A.  The online courses range from equipment instruction to species identification and entomology. There are also online courses for knot tying, fishing techniques and other topics necessary for the success of an angler. These courses are offered in packages and as individual courses.

Q.  What do each of the different courses of study entail?

A.  Each course of study includes a series of targeted instructional experiences designed to move anglers along the continuum of fly fishing, pushing them closer to the expert level. These experiences include specific classes, lessons, and guide trips so that anglers can increase both their breadth and depth of fishing knowledge and ability.
